IF YOUR BLACKBERRY IS CONNECTED TO A BLACKBERRY ENTERPRISE SERVER (BES), THE BES ADMINISTRATOR HAS TO SETUP A SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION POLICY ON THE BES FOR THE COOLMIR SOFTWARE.
IF YOUR BLACKBERRY IS NOT CONNECTED TO A BES (FOR NON-BES USERS), YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR BLACKBERRY SOFTWARE AND THE BLACKBERRY DESKTOP MANAGER LOADED ON YOUR PC OR YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A WEB ACCESSES ON YOUR

Known BlackBerry issues:

Handheld software version 4.1 for BlackBerry 8700 series, 7100 series and 7290 has a problem that forces the BlackBerry to charge from any external devices that is attached to its USB port even if it is not a power source. In some cases, if it can not charge from the attached device, it resets itself. To avoid this problem, when you use the CoolMIR, make sure the keyboard has more than 15% battery life.

The keyboard works with out any problem on devices listed above with handheld version 4.0. RIM BlackBerry told us the 4.1 handheld software issue will be fixed in their next handhled software release.

Handheld software version 4.2 for BlackBerry 8100 also has the same problem. This is also being addressed by RIM BlackBerry in their next software update for this device. CoolMIR V3.1 should fully support the 8100 BlackBerry Pearl when this update is released.
